Hello everyone and welcome
to this lesson’s reflection!
To begin with, everyone in
my class actually thought that we were going to have our final exam today, even
me, but there were some changed plans apparently.
Our teacher had decided
that it would be best if we had the test after all of our confined water dives,
which he thought would give us more practice. This basically meant that our
test would be next week, which gives me much more time to practice, as I hadn’t
actually practiced that much for this week.
However, lets move on to
the lesson itself. We started off by meeting at the pool as usually, but this
time we practiced things that mostly included taking off and on our gear
underwater. We practiced to take of our BCD, weight belt and mask. I personally
didn’t find anything that hard, but some things were more irritating than
others, such as the mask replacement. I found the mask replacement the most
terrible one, as when you now had taken on the mask, it was full of water and
when you emptied it, it was just itching everywhere in the eyes due to the salt
water.
Moving on, after we had
done all of the replacement practices, we did a small skin dive. And for
whoever doesn’t know, a skin dive is when you dive without your gear and only
with the snorkel. Another thing about skin dives is that you are actually
allowed to hold your breath, as you don’t breath compressed air. The main
purpose of the skin dive was for us to learn how to dive with the snorkel on
us, and then be able to clear it effectively when we reach the surface.
So, now it is just to
practice for the test, and wish me good luck and I will tell you how it all
went next week ;)
